Be The Cheer

Our 7 year old daughter just started competitive swimming and absolutely loves it! We weren't surprised she passed the test to join her new swim club back in September; she's been a fish ever since she was in diapers. She actually learned the 3 strokes necessary for her assessment 2 days prior to her test. My favourite part about going to her practices is that we usually go as a family (yes, even her two younger brothers come to watch). My husband and I are very supportive and try to let her know we back her 100%. She raced her 1st race last weekend and all four of us were there to cheer her on. It was an experience our little peanut will cherish for a very long time, I'm sure.

Cheering for someone is so much more than just being there in person and shouting through the rafters. It's letting them know you believe in them, telling them you admire what they've achieved and appreciate all of their hard work. Cheerios is running a terrific campaign that helps let our Canadian athletes know how much we love and support them; it's called the Cheerios cheer card. From a limited-time Cheerios Cheer cereal box you can cut out a cheer card, write a word of encouragement to a Team Canada athlete and mail it to them, free of charge. The card will then be delivered to the athletes in Pyeongchang, South Korea, as they compete this February at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

Can I also mention how much our family loves their healthy cereal?! We're really big on whole grain or multigrain everything and this cereal provides the perfect nutritious start to our mornings. So many tasty breakfast cereals are full of sugar and other unwanted ingredients. All three of our little ones love the taste of Cheerios and all different flavours (even the sweeter ones) are a great source of Iron, Fibre, Calcium, Vitamin D and other great nutrients. That is a major parent win for us! A great diet is always an important start for any young athlete.
